Wow, it’s crazy.
What is, I hear you ask? Well, the very fact that today marks a whole year since I pressed the publish button on my very first post. In some ways, it feels like I’ve been blogging for so much longer, yet, in others, a shorter time. I guess that’s what learning is all about though, and boy has blogging been a learning curve for me. Let’s take a look at where I started, where I’m at now and where I’m heading (including my BIG announcement).

One year blog anniversary! livingwithjhs.com

I’ve come a long way since I first started, with plenty of ups and downs. When I first started, it was because it was something that I’d always wanted to do to help others living with other conditions like mine who didn’t have information readily available. It was something that I’d been meaning to do for a few years but, one day, I finally told myself it was now or never. With Rare Disease Day, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

The thing is, I didn’t really know an awful lot about blogging back then. I only created it to help other people understand what they were going through and didn’t think about the social media side of it all. I then went to America for the summer, see here, and so didn’t get much time to blog and, once I’d got back, I just never really got back into it. After a tough semester, where I barely made it into uni, I just didn’t have the motivation or the mental capacity to think about my blog.

Now though, I’m back at it, with a whole new and improved blog! I made a few changes, which you can see here, but I’m really glad that I found my love for it again… not that I ever really lost it, I just lost touch with it. I forgot how much of a release it is to blog and how satisfying it is to talk to, and support, other people! I’ve still got a whole lot to learn, that I won’t deny, but at least I know I’m on the right track.

With so many new posts planned, ideas swirling around my head yet to be written down and a whole lot more motivation I am looking forward to seeing where blogging takes me. I guess it’s time to announce my news now… I’ve been promising for the past few days. This announcement was originally planned for last Friday, but with a hectic and spoon-lacking week, it ended up being delayed so, I figured, what better time to do it than on my anniversary post!! SO… up until now I have mainly written about chronic illness but I can now reveal that plans are now in the pipeline to start doing review-type posts, lifestyle tips and, of course, I know there’s been a few people dying to hear about my American travels so that will feature too. I can’t tell you much about these yet, mainly because I’m not 100% sure myself (and I don’t want to give out wrong information, do I?) but I’ll let you know as soon as everything is settled. What I can reveal though, is that my first review-type post should be out on Friday! I need to start sooner or later as I’ve got so much to catch up on with it!

Despite all this, I just want to take the opportunity to thank you lovely lot, my followers and supporters. Of course, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you and so I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The blogging community, and the spoonie community, are full of such kind, caring and strong-willed supportive people that I can’t thank you all of enough. It means the world to me! Thank you, and I love you all.
