Well, this time last week, I was opening my little package and inside was this little fella! My zebra bracelet.

You’re probably wondering what’s so special about it, right? It’s just a little zebra jewel on a braided bracelet, right?

WRONG!

This is my LIMITED EDITION silver zebra bracelet, purchased from The Silver Zebra Project. This is run by 20-year-old Rebecca who, like me, suffers from Hypermobility Syndrome. What does she do? She creates beautiful products that each contain a zebra and sells them for a small cost. It doesn’t end there though, the money she raises after the cost has been deducted is given all to charity – HMSA. The Hypermobility Syndromes Association provides information and support for those who are affected by Hypermobility Syndromes, whichever they may be (yes, there is more than one type).

So where does the limited edition part of my bracelet come in? Many of you probably won’t know that last week was HMS awareness week which, you guessed it, is all about trying to raise awareness for the different Hypermobility Syndromes. The Silver Zebra Project were selling these as a limited edition bracelet, exclusive for HMS awareness week.

I am absolutely in love with my bracelet, and now I don’t go anywhere without it. Being such a relatively unknown condition, I’ve never seen anything that represents it, until now. I wear it with pride, in the knowledge that I finally have something to represent such a big part of me.

Thanks again Becca and well done with all the hard work and fundraising you do… it’s such a good cause! Keep up the good work girl… I take off my hat to you (if I was wearing one anyway).ake off my hat to you (if I was wearing one anyway).
